About the position

The Sr Business Analyst in Provider Data Management is responsible for analyzing complex business problems using data from various sources to provide insights for decision-making. This role involves identifying trends, constructing forecasts, and creating strategic plans based on business data. The analyst collaborates with clients to tailor reports and analysis to meet specific needs, participates in management reviews, and ensures the accuracy of provider data for timely claims payment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
  • Construct forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.
  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and available data elements.
  • Collaborate with clients to modify or tailor existing analysis or reports to meet their specific needs.
  • Participate in management reviews, presenting and interpreting analysis results, summarizing conclusions, and recommending actions.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, and requirements workshops.
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze and transform needs into functional requirements.
  • Provide recommendations on opportunities for process improvements, medical cost savings, or revenue enhancements.
  • Create Business Requirements Documents, Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrix, and User Training materials.
  • Participate in all stages of project and program oversight development, ensuring the released product meets intended requirements.
  • Work with providers to educate and support physician roster data accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of business analysis experience.
  • 6+ years of managed care experience.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures applicable to job-related subject areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of formal training in Project Management.
  • Past direct provider interaction experience.
  • Experience working with complex, often highly technical teams.
  • Medicaid or Medicare Provider Service Experience.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred.
