About the position

The Sr Business Analyst with Retail Branch and Teller Operations plays a crucial role in optimizing application capabilities and business processes within a cross-functional team. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive business analysis and project/product support for the development, enhancement, quality assessment, and ongoing support of relevant lines of business (LOBs). The analyst will utilize industry trends to influence requirements for new application features and enhancements that align with strategic priorities. In this role, the analyst will identify the business needs of users, outline potential solutions, and translate business requirements into appropriate formats, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mapping. Maintaining requirements documentation in standard formats and repositories is essential to ensure traceability between scope, features, and functional requirements. The analyst will collaborate with users, vendors, and development team members to deliver optimal technical solutions that meet business requirements. The position also involves acting as a liaison to clarify development and testing teams on intended functionality and user stories. The analyst will significantly contribute to the design process to ensure it supports business requirements and provides an optimized user experience. Capturing requirements for complex systems across multiple stakeholders and applying the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliverables is a key responsibility. Additionally, the analyst will work with Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) to develop project testing strategies and support user acceptance testing to ensure quality in application releases and user experience. The role requires advising on security, risk management, and IT process principles, partnering effectively with security and risk teams to ensure that technology portfolio changes adhere to established standards. Active participation in Agile squad ceremonies and the use of Agile principles and tools such as Confluence and JIRA are also expected. The analyst will contribute to and lead efforts in the Business Analyst Center of Excellence, evolving requirements analysis and management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Influence a cross-functional team in optimization of application capabilities and business processes.
  • Provide business analysis and project/product support for development, enhancement, quality assessment, and ongoing support of relevant lines of business (LOBs).
  • Utilize industry trends to influence requirements for new application features and enhancements consistent with strategic priorities.
  • Identify business needs of users, outline potential solutions, and translate business requirements into appropriate formats including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mapping.
  • Maintain requirements documentation in standard formats and repositories ensuring traceability between scope, feature, and functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with users, vendors, and development team members to deliver the best technical solution that meets business requirements.
  • Act as a liaison to obtain clarification for development and testing teams on intended functionality/user stories.
  • Contribute significantly to the design process to ensure it supports business requirements and an optimized user experience.
  • Capture requirements for highly complex systems across multiple stakeholders and apply the SDLC to the execution of deliverables.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements considering multiple users, risks, and impact scenarios.
  • Work with QAS to develop project testing strategy and support user acceptance testing to ensure quality in application releases and user experience.
  • Advise on security, risk management, and IT process principles and escalate to appropriate teams as needed.
  • Partner effectively with security and risk teams to ensure tech portfolio changes adhere to standards.
  • Participate actively in Agile squad ceremonies and utilize Agile principles and tools (Confluence, JIRA).
  • Contribute to and lead BA Center of Excellence efforts in evolving requirements analysis and management practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working as a Business System Analyst or related IT roles.
  • Minimum 3 years of Operations experience as Teller using Argo Teller21 platform or equivalent exposure to retail branch Teller operations and systems.
  • Familiarity with Alogent Front Counter or other check processing and GL reconciliation processes for Retail Branches.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to familiarize with and be hands-on with the software application platform(s) supported by the squad.
  • Ability to understand technical implementation of the software application platform(s) and bridge the gap between business and technology.
  • Ability to work in a group/team setting and independently with minimal direction.
  • Takes accountability/responsibility for tasks and actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a positive team player attitude.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scaled Agile Framework, and Waterfall concepts.
  • Experience working in agile squads.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Experience with Agile methodology and using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to deliver business analysis artifacts in the form of use cases, process flows, and data mapping documentation.
  • Ability to break down complex concepts into simple and digestible requirements.
  • Execute Design thinking and Systems thinking when developing requirements artifacts.
  • Driven to deliver quality with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with mainframe, batch, and real-time (REST, Kafka or other).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in IT / Computer Science.
  • Experience in Retail Branch and Teller Operations.
  • Certifications (CBAP, agile certifications).
