About the position

The Sr Business Data Analyst role focuses on regulatory reporting and data governance within the Banking and Financial Services industry. The position is part of a broader team dedicated to Enterprise Risk Management, where the analyst will work on initiatives related to credit, market, operational risk, and data quality improvement. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate filing of regulatory reports and supporting risk management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support in building new ITeSS platform for Regulatory Reporting to enable accurate filing of regulatory reports required by FRB and OCC.
  • Ensure timely and accurate definition and execution of Risk requirements according to the client’s data operating model.
  • Support definition of scope, risk reduction metrics, issues, and data requirements for Risk Trading Book Products.
  • Monitor delivery of Tactical and Strategic DQ Fixes as required by the client’s data operating model for Risk use-cases.
  • Support testing and documentation of successful fix implementations.
  • Provide Risk input to adoption of Data Lineage, Authoritative Data Repository designation, and Data Certification initiatives.
  • Ensure all audit artifacts are complete and accurate.
  • Support IA validations.
  • Monitor progress against risk reduction metrics linked to the Risk use-cases; documenting and escalating any risks, issues or challenges that might impact the ability to meet those targets.
  • Continuously monitor and report on product performance and stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of experience in risk data, risk and financial platform implementations, managing risk systems, and financial analysis/reporting, preferably in US Regulatory Reporting.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with Data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica, or Erwin.
  • Hands-on experience with SAS, Python, or R.
  • MBA, CPA, or relevant degree in Finance.
  • Above-average to expert level domain expertise in risk management and reporting processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Exposure to BASEL II/III, credit, market, operational risk concepts.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Master Data Management, and Cloud essentials.
  • Past experience in people management.
