About the position

The Senior Sales Professional at Constellation is responsible for acquiring new business and implementing energy strategies, focusing on building relationships with senior-level decision-makers in major corporations. This role emphasizes the importance of understanding customer needs and developing tailored energy plans, while also leveraging existing relationships to drive sales in the clean energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and contact high-level decision makers in respective businesses to cultivate client relationships.
  • Cultivate customer relationships with Fortune 500, C&I, Institutional, and SMB companies.
  • Understand and translate market rules for all products/programs offered to customers.
  • Develop energy plans and strategies for prospects, prepare presentations, and close electricity and natural gas sales transactions.
  • Understand customers' business objectives and price risk tolerances, working with internal resources to develop energy hedging strategies that match customer needs.
  • Communicate effectively in front of groups and decision makers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business (Marketing or Finance) or Engineering; or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 8 years of marketing or sales-related experience.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience using databases.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Knowledge of sales functions including competitive analysis, customer requirements, pricing, and operational support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business-to-business energy sales experience in electric and gas commodity, demand response, solar, and energy efficiency products.
  • Experience and senior-level contacts at businesses.
  • Experience presenting and closing high-level Fortune 500 customers.
  • Direct sales experience successfully originating new business.
  • Formalized sales training program via Sandler, Miller Heiman, or equivalent.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce CRM platform.
