About the position

The Senior Business Development Capture Manager for Digital Sovereignty at AWS is responsible for leading strategic opportunities in the public sector and highly regulated industries. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and pursue business strategies that enhance AWS's digital sovereignty offerings. The manager will drive change with customers and partners, write compelling business cases, and influence stakeholders to support cloud adoption and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Guide public sector and regulated industry sales teams on originating, shaping, and winning competitive deals.
  • Collaborate with industry advisors, consultants, and entities to develop long-term business development and capture strategies.
  • Define and own strategies to identify and capture new digital sovereignty business opportunities.
  • Use expertise to determine goals and deliver on them quickly.
  • Recommend opportunities to pursue and actions to support sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year pipeline of cloud-related digital sovereignty opportunities.
  • Oversee implementation of win strategies, proposal approaches, and technical solutions.
  • Assist with written proposals for RFI/RFQ/RFP/Tenders and Framework Contracts.
  • Close business with field and partner sales teams using best practices in Business Development/Capture.
  • Drive pursue/no pursue and bid/no bid decisions, and manage priorities against competing demands.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly business reviews and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements experience.
  • 7+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.

  • Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments.
  • Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations.
  • Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Thorough understanding of government procurement and government contract vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to earn respect quickly.
  • Ability to develop, communicate, and document strategic programs and initiatives.
