About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst II at Johns Hopkins University is responsible for developing and maintaining data tools to support the Central Finance function of the School of Medicine. This role involves managing a 'Data and Report Inventory' for approved reports, analyzing data infrastructure, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance data utilization and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the buildout and maintenance of data tools to support the organization.
  • Maintains a 'Data and Report Inventory' of approved reports.
  • Applies knowledge of the Central Finance organization to inform data buildout and maintenance.
  • Develops new tools for data usage at the School and department levels.
  • Analyzes the current data infrastructure to determine necessary improvements.
  • Manages the buildout and maintenance of data tools within the organization.
  • Verifies and validates data to approve reports and catalog them in the 'Data and Report Inventory'.
  • Continuously analyzes data infrastructure to identify gaps for future improvements.
  • Ensures awareness and access to the 'Data and Report Inventory' among Central Finance and other departments.
  • Collaborates with various colleagues and departments to enhance data reporting and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business/Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Six plus years of progressively responsible financial and business operations experience, preferably in a large and complex organization.
  • At least 3 years of direct data analytics experience.
  • Proven communication, organizational, and analytic skills in a complex organization.
  • Ability to analyze data for budgeting, operations, auditing, accounts receivable, and reserve analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in financial/business management and/or academic business operations.
  • Significant experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau).

  • Competitive salary range of $73,300 - $128,300 annually, commensurate with experience.

  • Full-time employment with a structured workweek (Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5.00pm).
