About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Developer role is focused on enhancing the data analytics capabilities of a Consumer Packaged Goods Retailer in Dallas, TX. This hybrid position requires expertise in data modeling, Power BI, and data warehousing, with a strong emphasis on DAX and the ability to work with various data sources. The role involves modernizing the company's data platform and visualization strategies, contributing to exciting projects while collaborating with a growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Define, design, develop, document, and maintain Power BI data models and visualizations.
  • Implement advanced techniques using Power BI Premium, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3.
  • Develop and maintain complex DAX, DIM, and FACT tables, Power Query formula language (M), and T-SQL queries.
  • Oversee and conduct analysis, design, implementation, and support of the company data warehouse.
  • Develop ETL routines using appropriate tools.
  • Provide guidance on Power BI security, user mapping, and app deployment.
  • Work with various data sources such as SQL Server, DataVerse, Excel, Azure SQL, CI/CD pipelines, SharePoint Lists/Libraries, API based data, and unstructured data.
  • Stay informed about new developments and technologies through continuous learning, industry publications, vendor contacts, trainings, etc.

Requirements

  • Expertise as a Sr. BI Developer with strong data warehouse and data modeling experience.
  • Experienced in Power BI with a focus on data modeling.
  • Expertise in DAX, specifically as a 'DAX Wizard'.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations/Dynamics Axapta.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with C-level executives and business teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
