About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer for Amazon Publisher Monetization will play a crucial role in establishing scalable analytics solutions to support the growth of Amazon's advertising services. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to generate actionable metrics, automate analytics processes, and drive data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a strong passion for data, expertise in BI tools, and the ability to work with large datasets to provide insights that enhance both customer experience and advertiser satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product team to understand business requirements and implement solutions to support product plans.
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
  • Implement training and documentation solutions that enable stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve analytics tools.
  • Develop and support analytical technologies that provide customers timely, flexible, and structured access to their data.
  • Define, develop and maintain critical business and operational reports reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyze historical data to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of machine learning models.
  • Understand Amazon's data resources, which to use, how, and when.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience in Ad tech/ Media/ Telco industry

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
