About the position

The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) role within the AWS Specialist Partner Organizations Centralized Data and Insights Team (CDI) focuses on developing scalable business intelligence solutions to drive insights and optimize partner investments. The position requires a blend of technical skills in ETL, SQL, and data visualization, along with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders. The BIE will play a critical role in enhancing reporting capabilities and aligning analytical initiatives across global partner teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership in global business deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators.
• Proactively make and justify recommendations based on statistical techniques and cross-referencing multiple data sources.
• Automate reporting for regular metrics and identify areas of opportunity to automate and scale ad-hoc analyses.
• Own alignment and standardization of analytical initiatives across the global partner teams.
• Define, develop, and build business critical metrics and reports across all business levers, key performance indicators, and financials.
• Provide data engineering with functional and technical requirements to improve efficiency of data pipelines.
• Drive efforts with business leaders, BI leaders, and executive management across the partner organization.
• Stay up to speed with the latest technology/techniques in Generative AI to enhance reporting.
• Partner with engineering, product, business, and finance teams to create key performance indicators and new methodologies for measurement.
• Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders and create analytical insights to identify key priorities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional or military experience
• 5+ years of SQL experience
• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
• Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
• A passion for data science and advanced analytical tools e.g. ML
• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
