About the position

This role involves driving critical thinking and insights into complex, unstructured problems while collaborating with organizational leaders to implement these insights. It is a hands-on position within a small team, allowing for ownership of customer and business challenges from ideation to implementation. The mission is to enhance the customer journey for AWS clients through automation and self-service analytics, utilizing various analytics tools to generate impactful business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, launch, and scale self-service analytics and insights offerings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address customer and business problems.
  • Utilize analytics tools to generate insights for product and customer experience improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence, analytics, statistics, data engineering, data science, or a related field.
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and data lakes.
  • Strong experience with engineering and operations best practices, including version control and data quality/testing.
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
  • Knowledge of AWS products such as Redshift and Quicksight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize key findings and communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate data into business needs.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
