About the position

The Sr Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) for NA Supply Chain Inbound Analytics at Amazon is responsible for leveraging data to solve complex supply chain challenges and develop innovative business intelligence solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams to deliver actionable insights that optimize supply chain operations and enhance forecast accuracy. The BIE will utilize statistical analysis, data engineering practices, and advanced SQL skills to drive data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Work on new and ambiguous business problems to innovate and apply novel approaches.
• Identify, develop, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present business recommendations.
• Report key insight trends using statistical rigor to inform business teams.
• Collaborate with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from various sources using SQL and AWS technologies.
• Continuously learn and implement big-data technologies to optimize processing of large data sets.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting, analysis, data integrity, and documentation.
• Build automated data solutions and dashboards for self-service data needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of SQL experience
• 7+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
• Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills
• Experience with information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.

• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate data and business needs
• Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
