About the position

The Revenue Cycle (RC) Sr Business Operations Analyst at Hunterdon Healthcare System plays a pivotal role in the Business Intelligence (BI) team, directly reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence. This position is essential for ensuring financial, patient, and compliance accountability within Hunterdon Medical Center. The analyst will be responsible for providing comprehensive systems and analytics support across the revenue cycle workflow and reporting applications, which are integral to hospital operations. The role emphasizes the ongoing development and utilization of analytical insights and methodologies that enhance all revenue cycle functions. In this capacity, the Sr Business Operations Analyst will closely collaborate with revenue cycle operators, ancillary stakeholders, and third-party application partners to achieve operational goals. The responsibilities include managing the revenue cycle workflow and analytics tools utilized at Hunterdon Medical Center, in partnership with technical teams. This involves supporting tool updates, future revenue cycle system implementations, and reporting updates that arise from system enhancements and process changes. Additionally, the analyst will gather requirements, test, and validate changes for configuration in revenue cycle workflow and analytics tools. Monitoring data integration feeds into these tools is also a critical responsibility, with the analyst expected to escalate issues when data feeds are missing or incomplete. Furthermore, the role includes handling ad hoc reporting requests from operational revenue cycle leaders, ensuring that results are communicated clearly to facilitate informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manage revenue cycle workflow and analytics tools utilized at Hunterdon Medical Center revenue cycle operations in partnership with technical teams.
  • Support tool updates, future revenue cycle system implementations, and reporting updates due to system enhancements and process changes.
  • Gather requirements, test, and validate changes for configuration in revenue cycle workflow and analytics tools.
  • Monitor data integration feeds into revenue cycle workflow and analytics tools and escalate issues when data feeds are missing or incomplete.
  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests from operational revenue cycle leaders and communicate concise results to enable decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Health Administration.
  • Minimum three (3)+ years in revenue cycle systems, workflow, and reporting in a hospital setting, health system, or healthcare consulting firm.
  • Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training from AAHAM, HFMA, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in revenue cycle reporting and metrics.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes and workflow for both patient accounting and patient access.
  • Extensive knowledge of EHR data.
  • Familiarity with compliance guidelines for revenue cycle processes to support reporting design.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Word/Excel).
  • Ability to interact successfully with persons at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a productive, goal-oriented manner.

  • Proficient in analytics and visualization tools (Tableau).
