About the position

Project Kuiper is an initiative aimed at increasing global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission of Project Kuiper is to provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, thereby helping to close the digital divide. This initiative will cater to a diverse range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and organizations operating in areas lacking reliable connectivity. As the Sr. Business Ops Manager for Project Kuiper, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the ASIC supply chain strategy. This includes managing cost negotiations, ensuring supply continuity, and maintaining day-to-day communication with strategic suppliers and their manufacturing facilities globally. Your role will involve ensuring that all commodities meet the required product specifications, quality standards, delivery timelines, and pricing criteria. You will work cross-functionally with various teams, including the ASIC NPI team, hardware engineering, quality assurance, legal, and planning, to develop and execute comprehensive global component sourcing strategies. In this position, you will manage the supply chain strategy throughout all stages of the program lifecycle. You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including business and engineering leaders, to negotiate agreements and contracts such as term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, and component purchase agreements. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing industry trends and technology advancements to identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk minimization, and supply continuity. You will develop cross-functional strategies to execute complex business deals that require a technical understanding and have long-term implications in semiconductor operations. Additionally, you will prioritize projects to maximize cost reductions and ensure reliable supply, while also managing cross-functional projects to meet commitments and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and own supply chain strategy of all stages of program lifecycle
  • Work with stakeholders to negotiate agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, and component purchase agreements
  • Incorporate technical requirements into business transactions and manage product life cycles
  • Analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply continuity
  • Develop cross-functional strategy to execute complex business deals in semiconductor operations
  • Create and execute strategic sourcing plans to help internal customers meet their goals
  • Prioritize projects to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable supply
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives
  • Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals
  • Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with clear documentation and follow-up coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related technical or quantitative field
  • 4+ years of experience in sourcing or related disciplines specific to Foundry, Semiconductor Final Assembly, Testing, and Packing business
  • 4+ years of direct experience in technology procurement, commodity management, contract negotiation, or category sourcing

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in engineering or related field and 7+ years experience in engineering, sourcing, supply chain, and operations
  • Technical acumen in Foundry and Semiconductor packaging, final assembly, and manufacturing test
  • Experience in supplier evaluation/selection and negotiating MVA, NRE, and CAPEX
  • Experience with bill of material configuration management for consumer electronics and semiconductors
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent creative thinking skills for developing innovative solutions
  • Experience leading agreement negotiations for complex technology supplier deals
