About the position

The Sr. Business Process Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the hospital revenue cycle by analyzing complex business problems and defining system requirements. This position involves leading projects, preparing specifications, and ensuring that automated systems meet user needs and industry standards. The analyst will also produce technical documentation and support the development of system processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze moderately complex to complex business problems related to the revenue cycle.
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for application implementation based on business and user needs.
  • Revise existing system logic as necessary to improve functionality.
  • Evaluate and support the development of system processes and procedures.
  • Write and maintain technical specifications in support of IT policies and procedures.
  • Prepare time and cost estimates for projects.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects following the Hoag IT Project Management Methodology.
  • Track project metrics including schedule, budget, scope, issues, and risks.
  • Guide and advise less-experienced systems analyst personnel.

Requirements

  • BA in Business, Health Care, IT, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Technical writing experience in a project environment.
  • Ability to produce technical writing in support of IT policies and procedures.
  • Exposure to ITIL, CMMI, PMI preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters or PhD degree preferred.
  • IIBA Certification preferred.
  • HIPPA HITRUST and HITECH Certification preferred.
  • Candidate for Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
