About the position

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst in Operations/Supply Chain at MTS Systems Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, designing, and leading major business process re-engineering projects. Your primary focus will be on supporting information systems initiatives worldwide for specific business units. You will analyze user requirements, procedures, and processes to suggest ways to automate or improve new or existing systems, workflows, and interfaces. In this role, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of business process changes within your assigned areas of responsibility. You will define project objectives, scope, ownership, and resource requirements while developing a thorough understanding of existing business processes and the information and data they require. Your responsibilities will include consulting and contributing to projects at various stages, from requirements gathering to specifications writing, validation, and testing. You will also design new solutions, configure systems, and test these solutions, supporting project teams in designing solutions driven by project needs. You will articulate and translate business requirements into system solutions at a conceptual level, troubleshoot program and system malfunctions, and train staff and users to work effectively with computer systems and programs. Additionally, you will create and maintain system documentation, ensuring that your skills remain relevant by engaging in continuous learning through manuals, periodicals, and technical reports. You will lead periodic reviews and assessments of current business processes versus required functionality, initiating proposals to modify or replace processes and systems as necessary. Your role will also involve developing the business case supporting business process re-engineering initiatives, including cost/benefit analysis, quality metrics, cycle time, ROI, and other relevant metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, design, and lead major business process re-engineering projects.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and processes to suggest improvements.
  • Lead planning, design, and implementation of business process changes.
  • Define project objectives, scope, ownership, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of existing business processes and required data.
  • Consult and contribute to projects at various steps: requirements, specifications, and testing.

  • Develop requirements for technical architecture and systems integrations.
  • Organize effective task and steering teams for complex project requirements.
  • Develop methods and tools for requirements definition and project management.
  • Direct outside consultation activities as required.
  • Develop RFQ/RFPs for third-party application systems and evaluate proposals.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 8-10 years of experience in relevant business disciplines.
  • 3 years of overall SAP lifecycle experience.
  • Advanced functional-specific expertise on projects with direct operational or previous systems/process experience.
  • Experience leading two or more projects of large scope and high complexity.
