About the position

The purpose of the Sr. CAD Designer position is to provide CAD CAFM Support and Supervision, managing the process of delivering services related to the feasibilities or standards of the business as required. This role involves overseeing the processing, documentation, and tracking of exercises related to feasibility studies, standards application, exterior design, and signage. The Sr. CAD Designer will leverage their knowledge of the industry, market trends, codes, client expectations, value engineering, and innovation to enhance service delivery. In this role, the designer will interface directly with clients to develop design solutions, administer reviews, and seek client approvals for all new projects or initiatives. They will prepare preliminary plans and budgets, ensuring effective communication regarding the rationale and status of all standards applicable to Project Managers (PMs), Team Managers (TMs), and other stakeholders. The designer will also prepare presentations and training materials for the Project Management team and clients, coordinating closely with design service providers to ensure that deliverables meet client expectations in terms of accuracy and timeliness. The Sr. CAD Designer will be responsible for responding to client inquiries, reporting on the status of exercises, and ensuring that processes are followed and auditable. They will need to understand building components and disciplines, ensuring the currency and accuracy of information related to design services, and assist in value engineering and continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, the designer will create stacking and blocking plans and space plans, providing expertise for reviews of deliverables from third-party suppliers on behalf of clients. This role is strategic in innovating, applying, and educating clients on design services, ultimately adding value to their use of these services.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients for design solutions and seek approvals for new projects.

  • Add value to client design services with insights and appropriate solutions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • AD/CAFM Associate's Degree (AA/AS) preferred.
  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or AutoCAD or equivalent preferred.
  • Designer Diploma or Degree in Interior Design; minimum four years of related experience required.
  • Extensive Corporate and Retail design experience preferred.
  • Prior related experience preferred.
  • CAD/CAFM Architectural Technologist/Interior Designer AATO/ARIDO/DC preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients and co-workers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to internal departments and large groups.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of leases, contracts, construction practices, project management, building codes, and engineering practices.
