The Sr CAD Designer role is designed for developing concepts and design layouts of complex mechanical or electrical equipment parts and/or products while also assembling and creating computer-aided engineering definitions. This position requires a strong understanding of CAD tools and the ability to apply technology to perform project management activities. The Sr CAD Designer will offer innovative solutions to significant CAD, manufacturing, and process problems, ensuring that designs meet the necessary specifications and standards. In this role, the Sr CAD Designer will provide project leadership and expertise in areas of engineering definition requirements, supporting procedures, and Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering Tools. The designer will interact with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to assist in resolving design development, production, and acceptance issues. Consulting with engineering, inspection, and manufacturing personnel to verify the reliability of designs is a critical aspect of this position. Additionally, the Sr CAD Designer will coordinate activities and provide training and mentoring to lower designer classifications. They will recommend and implement process improvements to increase technical productivity and effectiveness within the organization. Conducting assigned research or development and working on complex projects/tasks will be part of the job responsibilities. The designer will serve as a technical advisor to other designers and may direct their work or lead projects. This role typically requires independence in structuring and accomplishing work, as it is a critical part of a team effort.
