The purpose of the Sr. CAD Designer position is to provide comprehensive CAD and CAFM support and supervision. This role is crucial in managing the processes related to the provision of services that pertain to the feasibility studies or standards of the business as required. The Sr. CAD Designer will oversee the processing, documentation, and tracking of exercises related to feasibility or standards application, exterior design, and signage. This position requires a deep understanding of the industry, market trends, codes, client expectations, value engineering, and innovation in design practices. In this role, the Sr. CAD Designer will interface directly with clients to develop design solutions that meet their needs. They will administer reviews and seek client approvals for all new projects or initiatives, ensuring that all preliminary plans and budgets are prepared accurately. Communication is key, as the designer will need to convey the rationale and status of all standards to Project Managers (PMs), Team Managers (TMs), and other stakeholders involved in the projects. The Sr. CAD Designer will also be responsible for preparing presentations and training sessions for the Project Management team and clients. Coordination with design service providers is essential to ensure that deliverables are accurate and meet client expectations in a timely manner. The designer will respond to client inquiries and report on the status of exercises as needed, ensuring that all processes are followed and are auditable. Additionally, the designer must have a solid understanding of building components and disciplines, ensuring the currency and accuracy of information related to design services. They will assist in value engineering and continuous improvement efforts, creating stacking and blocking plans and space plans as necessary. The role also involves providing expertise for reviews of deliverables from third-party suppliers on behalf of the client, playing a strategic role in the change process by innovating, applying, and educating on design solutions.
