About the position

The Senior Career Coach at Arizona State University's Thunderbird School of Global Management provides comprehensive career advisement and professional counseling to graduate students and alumni. This role encompasses guiding individuals through the career development process, administering assessments, and delivering workshops and presentations on job search strategies. The position also involves collaboration with campus partners and managing special projects to enhance career services.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students and alumni on career decision-making, industry research, and job search preparation.
  • Administer and interpret career assessment instruments such as TTI and Career Leader.
  • Design and develop in-person and e-learning career workshops and webinars.
  • Deliver career-related presentations and workshops to students and alumni.
  • Manage online career preparation courses.
  • Assist students with resume writing, networking, and interview techniques.
  • Critique resumes in various settings including classrooms and career events.
  • Develop and maintain career resource materials in printed and online formats.
  • Serve as a liaison with faculty and staff for career information.
  • Assist with special events such as employer recruiting events and national career fairs.
  • Stay current with new online career resources and tools.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience in a related area; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of experience; OR nine years of progressively responsible experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • Knowledge of career development, counseling, job search strategies, and job market trends.
  • Experience with administering and interpreting career assessments.
  • Experience in resume writing and interviewing techniques.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, especially cross-functionally and cross-culturally.

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-lingual skills preferred.
  • Experience in public speaking and facilitating large groups.
  • Knowledge of global workforce trends and contemporary recruitment methodologies.
  • Experience working with international and domestic audiences.
