About the position

As a Senior Analyst in the CPG Industry at Acosta, you will play a crucial role in supporting the category advisor team and fostering strong partnerships with clients. Your primary focus will be on providing merchandising solutions and decision support that drive business growth. This position involves conducting high-quality analysis of multi-source data to evaluate item performance, assortment planning, and store clustering, while effectively communicating insights to influence action.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations for category management projects and initiatives utilizing retailer POS and NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI) data sources and reporting tools.
  • Build, update, and refresh weekly and monthly dashboards (weekly POS + monthly category recaps).
  • Participate in the development of category presentations incorporating syndicated data and other sources of data that address business issues.
  • Work closely with CPG Category Management and Space Technology teams to ensure quality results are delivered.
  • Keep abreast of client's KPIs, strategies, innovation, and other important information.
  • Leverage the relationship with the client to understand key retailer deliverables, category strategies, and project timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or related work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • 1 - 3 years related experience in the CPG industry or category management.
  • Demonstrate an advanced degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, VB, and advanced macros.
  • Experience with Nielsen, Circana (IRI), or other syndicated data sources.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate relevant information.
  • Identify and leverage relevant data to diagnose situations and identify potential solutions.
  • Effectively and independently conduct data mining utilizing CPG math concepts and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Category Management Certification preferred.
  • Category Analyst/Manager Certification a plus.
