About the position

As the Sr. Instrumentation Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in leveraging your expertise in electrical engineering to develop innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of our customers. This position is situated within UOP, a Honeywell company renowned for its leadership in hydrocarbon processing technologies. You will work under general supervision, collaborating with some of the most talented engineers in the industry. Your contributions will be vital in the design, testing, and validation of products and processes, guiding them from prototype stages to market readiness. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team of professionals committed to ensuring the success of complex engineering projects and programs. You will apply prescriptive methodologies to project tasks, engage in specification reviews, and communicate effectively about non-compliance incidents. Your responsibilities will also include preparing and updating reports and documentation, utilizing computer-assisted equipment, and executing project tasks while identifying areas for technical improvement. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of engineering innovation, working on projects that have a significant impact on the global refining, gas processing, and petrochemical industries. You will be expected to coordinate with various stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to ensure that all technical requirements are met and that projects are delivered successfully.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 3+ years of experience generating requisitions for various types of Instrumentation equipment such as Transmitters, Control Valves and Gauges
  • 1 year of experience with Hazardous Area Design

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and requisitioning instrumentation equipment
  • Incorporate applicable Hazardous codes and customer requirements in order to produce a complete technical definition of the equipment
  • Assumes the secondary/primary liaison role with various outside suppliers and customers
  • Technically evaluate bids and participate in the supplier selection process
  • Review supplier designs against licensor requirements, code requirements, and customer requirements
  • Coordinate with suppliers throughout the fabrication phase of the project
  • Visit shops for kickoff meetings and critical inspections points
  • Knowledge of applicable NEC, European, Other Countries code UOP standards for Electrical equipment
  • Familiarity with 3-D Model Design, Conduit/Tray Routing, Mechanical Support and Installation Details
