About the position

Audubon, an EPC company based in Houston, is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer specializing in LNG projects. This role involves planning and conducting independent work, as well as reviewing the work of vendors and contractors in the areas of Civil, Drainage, Road, and Storm Water System Design specifically for LNG projects. The position requires a strong judgment in evaluating, selecting, applying, and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. The focus will be on civil engineering, particularly in containment and drainage methodologies, calculations, and design. The responsibilities of this position include the civil and site design of assigned scopes of work for LNG onshore projects. The engineer will be expected to work independently or direct the technical work of vendors and contractors, ensuring that standard design details are applied according to PIP, OSHA, and client safety standards, as well as applicable codes and industry standards. Additionally, the engineer will assist in reviewing cost estimates and quantity take-offs for ongoing projects, proposals, forecasts, and change orders, while providing technical guidance to contractors and vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience in reviewing and checking civil site development design deliverables, including concepts, drawings, calculations, and quantities related to site layout, drainage, grading, pavements, storm water and sanitary systems, fencing, underground utilities, and soil retention structures for LNG projects. A general understanding of cut-and-fill, roadway design, open channel drainage, and culvert design is essential, along with knowledge of SWPPP and temporary drainage design. Familiarity with relevant PIP design guides and a broad knowledge of engineering applications to plant constructability are also required. The candidate should be proficient in current computer applications for engineering and design, including 2-D and 3-D CAD software such as Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, and CivilStorm, among others. Understanding engineering planning and control methods, as well as the roles of other departments in projects, is crucial. The candidate should also be adept at managing RFIs from construction teams, vendors, and EPC contractors, and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
