The City of Greensboro is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Transportation Engineering division. This role is pivotal in administering the City's Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, which involves evaluating submitted applications, overseeing data collection, and conducting safety analyses, including the construction of collision diagrams. The engineer will also be responsible for organizing neighborhood meetings, developing projects, and assisting with the traffic count program to ensure accurate transportation data collection that supports various GDOT plans and programs. Additionally, the engineer will investigate neighborhood traffic safety concerns and coordinate recommendations with affected customers. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for this position, as the engineer will represent GDOT at regular board and commission meetings and respond to citizen transportation-related concerns. In another capacity, the Senior Civil Engineer will administer the City's Traffic Impact Study (TIS) ordinance, which includes scoping and reviewing TISs and maintaining the TIS database. The engineer will manage the city's congestion management program, identifying congested locations and developing projects to mitigate these concerns.
