In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time and within budget. You will utilize your strong organizational skills to track project progress and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing and reviewing engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for solar and electric vehicle (EV) development projects across the United States. You will also conduct site visits to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with local regulations. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare deliverables for site/civil development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Communicate and collaborate with solar clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for solar and EV development projects throughout the US.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D AutoCAD software.
  • Experience in designing stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in site civil engineering with solar preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards in Maryland and Washington, DC.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects involving both overhead and underground engineering systems.
