About The Position
PBS Engineering and Environmental is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, Washington. This position is integral to our operations, focusing on leading civil engineering design projects and providing direction to civil design teams. The successful candidate will serve various public and private clients within PBS's existing portfolio, while also having the opportunity to develop new client relationships. Our teams specialize in delivering multi-disciplinary projects that incorporate the full breadth of PBS services and strategic subconsultant partners. This role offers a collaborative environment supported by a comprehensive suite of engineering and environmental service lines. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and administering medium to large transportation infrastructure projects. You will provide leadership in the design of efficient and constructable civil projects, ensuring that all project timelines and budgets are met. Your role will also involve estimating and budgeting labor hours for design projects, reviewing job costing reports, and taking corrective action as necessary. Establishing and maintaining client relationships is crucial, as is ensuring client satisfaction and meeting their objectives. Additionally, you will mentor young design professionals and participate in business development opportunities, as well as engage in professional organizations and functions. Examples of projects you may lead include the Vancouver Heights Tower Mall Redevelopment, a 35-acre multi-phased urban redevelopment project aimed at providing employment and affordable housing in the urban core of Vancouver, Washington. This project includes significant improvements such as major signalized intersections, new roundabouts, and new collector roadways, along with a linear parkway and community plaza. Another example is the Broadmoor Redevelopment, where PBS is assisting the City of Pasco in utilizing their available Tax Increment Financing to develop arterial roadways, signalized intersections, and a multilane roundabout, facilitating planned community expansion for private development investments.
