The Sr. Civil Engineer position at Volt involves working on a variety of engineering projects, including municipal and environmental engineering. Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluations or methodologies.
  • Carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Communicate updates or problems, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between management, team leaders, clients, and vendors.
  • Oversee diverse teams, managing performance and morale, especially during busy periods.
  • Monitor project compliance with industry codes, quality assurance policies, and performance standards.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to forecast budgets and timelines for project accuracy.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout all project stages to ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and engage in business development activities.
  • Work on complex projects requiring independent study and responsible judgment.
  • Build relationships with existing and future clients.
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas and technical concepts to co-workers and clients.
  • Prepare designs, reports, and complex calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 6 or more years of progressive relevant experience.
  • Licensed professional in area of practice and licensed in the state of office location.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and implement improvements.
