About the position

As a Senior Civil Engineer at our national engineering firm, you will play a pivotal role in addressing complex challenges faced by our clients. Our firm is dedicated to leveraging a diverse range of experiences and technical expertise to deliver comprehensive solutions that enhance performance across various projects. You will be involved in land development projects in both public and private sectors, adaptive reuse renovations, and sustainable development concepts, including urban recharge initiatives. Your responsibilities will also encompass flood-exposure evaluation and mitigation, detailed due diligence and risk assessments, as well as utilities and drainage investigation and design. In this role, you will conduct detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, oversee plaza reconstruction, and perform accessibility evaluations and repairs. You will also be responsible for pavement evaluations, investigations, and designs, as well as pump system investigations and designs. Utilizing Civil3D and other software, you will engage in detailed data analytics and prepare construction documents, specifications, written reports, and presentations. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with our Geotechnical, Marine, Structural, and Building Technology groups on various projects, including slope and shoreline stabilization, retaining wall systems, and floodproofing initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply engineering skills to a breadth of projects including land development, adaptive reuse renovations, and sustainable development concepts.
  • Conduct flood-exposure evaluation and mitigation, detailed due diligence, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate and design utilities and drainage systems.
  • Perform detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and plaza reconstruction.
  • Evaluate and repair accessibility issues and conduct pavement evaluations.
  • Investigate and design pump systems and conduct detailed data analytics using Civil3D and other software.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, written reports, and presentations.
  • Deliver collaborative solutions with Geotechnical, Marine, Structural, and Building Technology groups on various projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Appetite to take responsibility for tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or willingness to pursue MS with financial support available.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D preferred.
  • Familiarity with performing due diligence and permitting requirements is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with computer analysis software (e.g., XPStorm, XPSWMM, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, HydroCAD) is beneficial.
