About the position

Arthur Chew Consulting LLC is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Linwood, NJ. This full-time hybrid role will initially require working on-site, with the potential for remote work as the position evolves. The successful candidate will collaborate with our engineering team to design, analyze, and modify primarily residential structures. You will oversee the planning and implementation of various structural design projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and government requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering custom and efficient solutions for our clients, which include contractors and real estate agents. The role demands a strong understanding of engineering principles, theories, and practices, as well as relevant industry standards and codes. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate clearly with team members and clients. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and analyze residential structures.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of structural design projects.
  • Ensure all engineering projects meet regulatory standards and government requirements.

  • Communicate with clients and team members to provide updates and gather requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Relevant work experience in structural engineering and design is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience using AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with forensic engineering and structural inspections.
  • Knowledge of vibration monitoring and septic system design.
