About the position

The Sr. Claims Specialist for Professional Liability (Cyber) at Sedgwick is responsible for analyzing and managing complex cyber and professional liability claims. This role involves conducting thorough investigations, maintaining compliance with client guidelines, and providing high levels of customer service while managing claim costs. The position requires a strong understanding of cyber threats and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a diverse portfolio of cyber claims, including various Professional Liability claims for insurance company clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into incidents such as data breaches and ransomware attacks.
  • Analyze policy wordings and determine coverage applicability for each claim.
  • Draft coverage letters and maintain accurate claim files in compliance with guidelines.
  • Identify and investigate for possible fraud, subrogation, and recovery opportunities to reduce claim costs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned insurance company clients, providing regular updates on claim status.
  • Recommend settlement strategies and represent the company in depositions and mediations as needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, including forensic experts and legal counsel, managing vendor expenses and performance.
  • Stay current with evolving cyber threats and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Prepare detailed claim reports and analyses for insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; JD preferred.
  • At least five years of claims management experience, with two years in cyber claims management or equivalent education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cyber and Professional Liability lines, including E&O, D&O, and EPL insurance principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and meet performance competencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
  • Adjuster Licenses as required.
