About the position

The Sr. Clinical Research Finance Analyst at UC Irvine plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of clinical trials within the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position involves interfacing with business partners in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries, overseeing accounts receivable for a large portfolio of clinical trials, and ensuring compliance with financial processes and policies. The analyst will be responsible for the full life-cycle management of clinical trial contracts, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Administer accounts receivable for a large clinical trial portfolio.
  • Manage the full life-cycle of clinical trial contracts and finance in pre- and post-award settings.
  • Analyze complex documents such as medical records and clinical trial agreements.
  • Maintain clinical trial financial statements and invoice logs.
  • Provide routine and ad hoc financial data and reports.
  • Facilitate the prompt close out of contracts by verifying fulfillment of obligations.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheet and database software.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in clinical research finance.
  • Experience with clinical trial agreements and clinical research billing principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), preferably Oncore.
  • Experience managing finances for oncology-specific trials.
