About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Sr. Cloud Application Developer to join the NIRA project team, a key initiative in the FDA's digital transformation journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms, modern development frameworks, and a commitment to best practices in coding, security, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Research, Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-based applications and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud-native software that meets business requirements.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud platforms, modern development frameworks, and a commitment to best practices in coding, security, and performance.
  • Research and propose appropriate cloud services that can be leveraged to benefit the customer's applications.
  • Ensure the implementation of all cloud services is being performed in accordance with customer's required security controls and industry best practices.
  • Develop scripts to configure, implement, and leverage cloud services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud technologies and services.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud-native development, including microservices architecture, containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Go.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, RESTful services, and event-driven architecture.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Understanding of cloud security practices, including access controls, encryption, and secure coding standards.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Anthropic, Llama, AWS Bedrock, Hugging Face), as well as building data pipelines for AI models.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Developer).
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for automated deployment and monitoring.
