About the position
The Sr. Cloud Architect (AWS Cloud) will lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud solutions on AWS, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This role requires substantial experience in cloud architecture and a strong background in both AWS and Google Cloud platforms. The architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions, optimize cloud infrastructure, and drive efficiencies in cloud operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance AWS/Google cloud architectures to support various business needs.
- Lead the technical integration of cloud environments and applications resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
- Assess and plan for the migration of applications, data, and services from acquired companies to the AWS platform.
- Collaborate with acquisition teams to understand legacy systems and develop integration strategies.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership for AWS cloud initiatives.
- Develop best practices and standards for cloud architecture and operations.
- Work closely with stakeholders including IT, security, operations, and business units to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS environments to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.
- Implement and manage cloud governance and compliance practices.
- Create detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on AWS best practices and integration techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- X-1X years of IT engineering experience with a focus on cloud technologies.
- Extensive experience with AWS Cloud and Google Cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and database management in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
