About the position

The Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in understanding and leveraging the product suite to address customer challenges effectively. This position requires a deep understanding of the product capabilities, allowing the engineer to act as a subject matter expert. The engineer will work extensively with multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Google Cloud Platform, utilizing native Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, AKS, GKE, and OKE. The role involves customizing and configuring the product to meet specific customer needs, analyzing performance requirements, and recommending appropriate infrastructure specifications. In addition to deployment responsibilities, the engineer will conduct functional quality assurance and performance assessments, optimizing solutions to align with customer requirements. Application Performance Monitoring (APM) will be a key focus, with the engineer implementing monitoring tools of the customer's choice to ensure product responsiveness, security, resilience, and efficiency. Ongoing support is also a critical aspect of this role, as the engineer will be expected to provide operational support post-implementation and be on-call periodically to address any customer concerns or challenges. The ideal candidate will be a Kubernetes certified professional or an expert administrator of Kubernetes and Helm, with a self-driven attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with business partners, management, and technical teams. The candidate should have a solid background in site reliability engineering (SRE) and DevOps, with experience in enterprise-scale applications and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the product inside-out and how this product can solve customer challenges.
  • Work on multi-cloud environments like AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and GCP using the native Kubernetes platform.
  • Customize and configure the product to meet customer needs based on their requirements and challenges.
  • Analyze performance requirements and recommend appropriate compute and infrastructure specifications to customers.
  • Deploy applications and their components in the Kubernetes platform on the customer's infrastructure.
  • Perform functional quality assurance and performance assessments, optimizing solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Implement Application Performance Monitoring using tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, and Prometheus.
  • Provide ongoing support to customers, addressing any concerns or challenges they may have post-implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an enterprise-level DevOps role (Minimum 3 years with Cloud AWS/Azure and 2 years with Kubernetes Administration)
  • Expertise in Kubernetes administration/development and hands-on experience in Helm
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure components such as routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networks
  • Expertise in observability and monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, AppDynamics, and Splunk
  • Deep understanding of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and user monitoring
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes, SI/SLO/SLA management, incident resolution, and automation techniques
  • Strong IP networking fundamentals and experience with standard application protocols and messages
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and AWS Cloud Formation is preferable
  • Ability to analyze application and server logs and interpret errors
  • Ability to code in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Shell
  • Experience in site reliability engineering in Java, Kubernetes, and Database platforms like Postgres
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
