About the position

The Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a pivotal role in the management and enhancement of cloud-based technologies, specifically within Azure and AWS environments. This position requires a deep understanding of both cloud infrastructure and traditional data center operations, as the engineer will be responsible for monitoring and supporting systems across these platforms. The role involves regular collaboration with IT team members, Network Administrators, and Project Management to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services. The engineer will leverage their expertise in Windows Server administration while also possessing the necessary skills to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission services in Azure and AWS. In addition to cloud management, the Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will engage in standard Enterprise Data Center support, focusing on servers and Active Directory. This hands-on role demands proficiency in Microsoft and infrastructure technologies, as the engineer will work in both private data center and cloud environments. The engineer will be tasked with enhancing the current cloud environments, leading initiatives to implement and monitor security measures, and ensuring the overall performance and reliability of cloud services. The responsibilities extend to deploying and supporting Virtual Machines both on-premise and in Azure, as well as managing Docker containers. The engineer will evaluate and automate scaling and capacity requirements, implement infrastructure changes, and conduct system security hardening. Troubleshooting and resolving performance, connectivity, and security issues within the cloud environments will also be a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that the systems operate efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the current Azure and AWS cloud environments.
  • Lead the process of implementing, monitoring, and enhancing the security of cloud environments.
  • Deploy, enhance, and support Virtual Machines on-premise and in Azure.
  • Deploy, enhance, and support Docker containers.
  • Evaluate and automate scaling and capacity requirements within cloud environments.
  • Implement infrastructure changes for servers and containers.
  • Conduct system security hardening.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud environment performance, connectivity, and security issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Azure and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with Docker container management.
  • Ability to implement and monitor security measures in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Data Center support, including servers and Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Azure or AWS (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
