The Senior Cloud Engineer will be a core member of a technical team responsible for supporting, building, and designing cloud infrastructure and platforms for Enterprise cloud services. This role involves providing direct analysis and recommendations associated with the implementation or migration of specific applications to cloud services. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with business teams to create migration and technology roadmaps, ensuring that the transition to cloud services is smooth and efficient. The incumbent will also be tasked with developing innovative ideas, proof-of-concepts, and rapid prototypes alongside other engineers, utilizing pair programming and mobbing techniques. Additionally, the role includes consulting and upskilling other engineers on DevSecOps and Cloud solutions, which encompass distributed version control, trunk-based development practices, infrastructure automation, monitoring, operations, and maintaining a well-architected AWS/Azure infrastructure. Responsibilities include the development, solutioning, operation, maintenance, and support of the Cloud Infrastructure environment, which encompasses servers, storage, network services, enterprise applications, web application stacks, and cloud platform support and automation. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud resources, including development, design, planning, management, maintenance, and support. They will work with the team to improve, expand, and enhance continuous integration and deployments of cloud infrastructure and tooling. Building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, management, and operations is also a key responsibility. The role requires continuous proof-of-concepts development and rapid prototypes alongside other engineers, developing standards in partnership with Engineering, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development. In terms of cloud services support, the Senior Cloud Engineer will handle day-to-day operations for service request fulfillment based on SLA/SLO, implement and maintain cloud management solutions, and support the engineering requirements of Legacy/On-Prem enterprise applications while developing Cloud migration solutions. The role also involves ensuring cloud performance, stability, reliability, efficiency, and security for both the sites and general operations. The Senior Cloud Engineer will provide oral and written status reports to IT management and customer support, document solutioning and architectural design, create runbooks/SOP for operational processes, and demo cloud development work to the team.
