About the position

The Sr. Cloud Enterprise Engineer (EAE) at AWS National Security is a pivotal role focused on providing technical guidance and advocacy to customers, ensuring they maximize the value of AWS services. This position is not sales-oriented but emphasizes being a principal technical advisor, helping organizations adopt and utilize AWS technologies effectively. The EAE will engage with a diverse range of clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, and will be responsible for maintaining operational health and driving strategic discussions with senior leadership regarding technical challenges and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Craft and execute strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
• Provide technical guidance and advocacy to customers for building solutions using AWS best practices.
• Maintain operational health of customers' AWS environments.
• Engage with senior leadership to discuss incidents, trade-offs, support, and risk management.
• Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience in Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, AI/ML, DevOps, Big Data, Security, or Applications Development in a distributed systems environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
• Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

• 7+ years of technical engineering experience in operational parameters and troubleshooting for three or more of the specified areas.
• Experience in Information Technology operations.
• Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to decision makers.
• Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
• Familiarity with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
