About the position

The Sr. Cloud Engineer (SCE) role at Inspira Financial is pivotal in designing, administering, maintaining, and supporting the enterprise infrastructure for a dynamic and growing business. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across private and public clouds, networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, mobile devices, process schedulers, telecommunications, and databases. The SCE will work closely with development teams, client service teams, and business leaders to integrate, support, operate, and provide infrastructure related to the Platform Architecture within Inspira Financial. This role requires a creative, client-focused, solutions-driven individual who can thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to solution creation, operational support, and training within a collaborative team setting. In this role, the SCE will provide direct support to improve the day-to-day operations of hardware and operating systems, including Cloud Services. Responsibilities include evaluating system utilization, monitoring response times, and providing primary support for operational problem detection and correction. The SCE will coordinate and perform additions and changes to servers, networks, operating systems, and attached devices, ensuring compliance with information security policies and infrastructure standards. The role also involves utilizing metrics and cloud-native consumption-based services to enhance cost efficiencies, implementing and configuring cloud-native services in CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, and managing disaster recovery and business resumption plans related to technology infrastructure. The SCE will maintain VMware and Cloud virtual environments, manage Microsoft Active Directory Domain, and mentor fellow Cloud Admins and Engineers. This position requires managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting existing projects and processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and propose solutions. The SCE will also provide technical expertise to ensure development activities align with business objectives and maintain clear documentation of cloud and on-premise data center infrastructure development and standards. Overall, this role is essential for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of Inspira Financial's cloud infrastructure and services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure across private and public clouds.
  • Interface with development teams, client service teams, and business leaders to integrate and support infrastructure related to Platform Architecture.
  • Provide direct support and improve day-to-day operations of hardware and operating systems, including Cloud Services.
  • Evaluate system utilization, monitor response time, and provide primary support for operational problems.
  • Coordinate and perform additions and changes to servers, networks, operating systems, and attached devices.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and infrastructure standards.
  • Utilize metrics and cloud-native consumption-based services to improve cost efficiencies.
  • Implement and configure cloud-native services in CI/CD pipelines using IAC tools.
  • Implement and configure Istio Service Mesh and Helm Chart Deployments.
  • Implement and configure firewalls and security appliances.
  • Implement and configure Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Plans.
  • Maintain VMware and Cloud virtual environments and Microsoft Active Directory Domain.
  • Mentor fellow Cloud Admins and Engineers.
  • Manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and support existing projects and processes.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and ensure development activities align with business objectives.
  • Maintain and upgrade deployment platforms and system infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Troubleshoot AKS cluster-based issues and deployment through the ADO pipeline.
  • Provide infrastructure problem resolution for various applications throughout the organization.
  • Utilize programming skills to design and develop programs or scripts for repetitive functions.
  • Support inbound calls/emails and maintain tickets related to Infrastructure Support.
  • Cross-train other team members to facilitate coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of applicable experience in cloud engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure ADO.
  • Experience with building and deploying container workloads using Docker and Terraform.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, AKS, Azure ADO, and Terraform.
  • Experience with implementing and configuring resilient, highly available IT systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux Operating systems in both physical and Cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure PaaS and SaaS solution development technologies.
  • Experience with JSON, REST, and data-based APIs.
  • Familiarity with Azure Service Bus and Azure Notifications Hub.
  • Exposure to logging and monitoring tools of native Azure.
  • Experience with building DR and HA solutions.
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation of Cloud and on-premise data center infrastructure development.
  • Networking knowledge and skills to configure, maintain, and support Cisco Meraki devices, Azure VNETS, and VPN Gateways.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Powershell, Bash, JS, Python, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Services Azure (preferred), Google, or AWS.
  • Experience with BDR solutions such as Veeam and Azure Backup/Site Recovery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications preferred: AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-500.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Services (Exchange, Intune, Sharepoint, and Teams).
  • Ability to implement and configure Kubernetes deployments utilizing custom resources.
  • Experience with general SQL Server database troubleshooting.
