Sr Cloud Platform Engineer

About the position

As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative cloud platform solutions that enable our engineering and development teams to build and deploy cloud-native applications with speed, security, and efficiency. You will leverage your extensive experience and expertise in cloud computing, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration/deployment to create and enhance platform-based services that empower our teams to adopt and optimize cloud resources. You will also mentor and coach other engineers, foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, and champion best practices and standards across the organization. Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation and ongoing enhancement of a central development portal, ensuring seamless access to cloud resources, tools, and documentation for developers.
• Engage with engineering and development teams to understand their needs and align our platform solutions with organizational objectives.
• Design and implement governance frameworks to ensure cloud deployments and our platform offerings meet strict monitoring, threat management, data protection, and cost management standards.
• Provide guidance and support for teams navigating cloud onboarding, design, and implementation, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration of cloud resources.
• Develop and maintain a foundational suite of Terraform modules, GitHub workflows, and Reference architectures to streamline team onboarding and enhance service delivery.
• Plan and execute robust strategies for migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud, aligning with broader organizational goals.
• Stay at the forefront of cloud platform engineering trends and technologies, advocating for innovative solutions that bolster organizational performance and agility.
• Serve as a bridge to organizational resources for teams facing challenges, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Cultivate a knowledge-sharing ecosystem, documenting cloud infrastructure and application guidelines, best practices, and tutorials.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in designing, automating, and supporting AWS cloud services.
• AWS specialization with certification is preferred.
• Expertise with core AWS services (e.g., AWS Organizations, Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
• A deep understanding of cloud services, security, storage, and networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with automated CI/CD workflows in GitHub or similar platforms.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools and techniques.
• Coding experience in languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, etc.
