About the position
The Sr. Cloud Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS. This role requires extensive experience in cloud architecture, particularly with Red Hat Linux and AWS services, and involves collaboration with various teams to implement robust cloud solutions. The position is remote but candidates must be located within Texas, and it is a long-term engagement with a direct state client.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with different technical and non-technical teams to develop and implement robust cloud solutions.
- Select appropriate AWS services based on data, compute, database, or security requirements.
- Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS Cloud.
- Identify and gather requirements to define a solution to be built and operated on cloud infrastructure.
- Assess the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications as necessary.
- Educate on architectural principles and best practices on various technical levels.
- Ensure solutions and infrastructures align with TIERS security standards.
- Lead technical and design discussions to help speed the adoption of new technologies and practices.
- Working knowledge of storage and backup solutions provided by AWS.
- Experience with ITIL ticketing using Remedy and ServiceNow.
- Experience managing Archer GRC.
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in cloud architecture and solutions.
- Expertise in operating systems such as Red Hat Linux and Windows.
- Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS Cloud.
- Experience with ITIL ticketing using Remedy and ServiceNow.
- Experience managing Archer GRC.
Nice-to-haves
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addresses, DNS, TCP/IP, and other standard networking protocols.
- General knowledge of database software such as Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, etc.
- Knowledge of identity and access management as well as additional cybersecurity principles.
- Keep abreast of the newest cloud computing developments and work to improve the organization's cloud infrastructure.
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
