About the position

The Sr. Commercial Sales Development Representative is responsible for maintaining and building relationships with the agency force in a designated territory in Southern California. This role serves as the primary liaison to the agency force, focusing on increasing sales, managing profitability, training agents on company systems and products, and prospecting new agency partners. The representative will develop expertise in the company's commercial products and services, create effective sales visit plans, and analyze sales data to identify growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the growth and profitability management of an assigned commercial territory.
  • Develop expertise in Mercury's Commercial products, platforms, and services to provide solutions for agents.
  • Motivate and inspire assigned agency plant to achieve new business growth, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Create sales visit plans and conduct effective in-person sales visits within the assigned territory.
  • Develop a consistent flow of new business opportunities that fit Mercury's Commercial appetite and eligibility guidelines.
  • Leverage financial incentives to influence agency behavior toward achieving goals.
  • Analyze territory sales data and reports to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for agencies in understanding and communicating with the Mercury team.
  • Implement segmentation strategy within assigned agency plant to maximize visibility.
  • Identify individual agency's areas of opportunity and create collaborative action plans to drive improvement.
  • Collect competitive intelligence and industry trends to provide feedback and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to provide a positive customer experience.
  • Assist management with special assignments outside of established responsibilities.
  • Mentor other team members or newly hired team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience with outside sales and marketing, especially in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of USD $89,906.00 - USD $162,157.00 per year.
