About the position

The Senior Communications and Engagement Specialist focuses on Digital Marketing within the Communications and Engagement Department. This role is responsible for creating and managing digital and print marketing strategies, utilizing graphic design, social media, email communications, and website management to enhance community engagement and communication. The specialist collaborates with various departments to develop effective marketing campaigns that educate and inform the target audience, ultimately improving the quality of communications from the City and County of Broomfield to its residents.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes communication, marketing, and engagement goals and strategies for programs, services, and events.
  • Plans, applies, and evaluates various communication methods to increase engagement and proactive brand positioning.
  • Develops and manages a broad range of communication and engagement strategies, outreach programs, and initiatives.
  • Coordinates and leads meetings with department partners to understand project outcomes and implement effective strategies.
  • Writes and develops content for various marketing efforts.
  • Creates and implements training programs and materials for internal and external use.
  • Monitors and maintains analytics trends of current posts and explores new promotional opportunities.
  • Researches and assists with public engagement best practices and industry trends.
  • Responds to comments, inquiries, and complaints from community members through social media and Google postings.
  • Supports the Brand Manager by determining graphics package needs and initiating graphic design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, graphic design, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, website and graphic design, with a demonstrated understanding of marketing campaign creation and implementation.
  • Experience using a content management system.
