About the position

The Senior Communications Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's reputation and increasing understanding of its business among various audiences, including customers, media, community partners, and employees. Reporting to the Manager of Communications, this position will focus on developing marketing and public relations campaigns specifically for the beverage packaging and automotive sectors, as well as the company's sustainability initiatives. In this role, the Senior Communications Specialist will assist in positioning Novelis with tier 1 media and collaborate with public relations agencies to boost awareness. The specialist will be responsible for crafting compelling content for the beverage packaging and automotive business lines, as well as for sustainability efforts. This includes creating informative content for employees about Novelis' activities and industry developments, as well as managing content for various company channels such as the website, social media, newsletters, and intranet. Additionally, the role involves planning and executing company events, including conferences, tradeshows, and internal leadership meetings and webinars. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations and marketing, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Help develop marketing and public relations campaigns that raise Novelis' profile, focusing on beverage packaging, automotive, and sustainability.
• Assist in positioning the company with tier 1 media and partner with public relations agencies to increase awareness.
• Craft content for the beverage packaging and automotive business lines sales team, as well as for sustainability initiatives.
• Create content to inform employees about Novelis' activities with customers and within the industry.
• Develop content for company channels, including website, social media, newsletters, and intranet.
• Assist with planning and executing company events, including conferences, tradeshows, and internal leadership meetings and webinars.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or other Communications field.
• 7+ years of proven ability in a similar role.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in effective targeted messaging to a diverse audience.
• Experience in B2B communications.
• Experience with digital, print, and social media.
• Ability to translate complex concepts and strategies into accessible language for multiple audiences.
• Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven capability of developing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
