About the position

Navan is seeking a Senior Social Media Manager to join our dynamic Marketing team. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who will be responsible for effectively communicating Navan's messages to our audience and promoting content that drives growth. As the Senior Social Media Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to own the strategic direction and voice of our social media presence, setting executable goals while managing multi-channel programs with the support of the broader marketing team. Your influence will be crucial in shaping Navan's public persona, enhancing customer and journalist perceptions of Navan as a leading Travel Management Company (TMC) and Fintech spend management provider. In this role, you will independently define measurable strategies, tactics, and production methods with clear KPIs to meet varying objectives, including brand perception and driving product discovery and purchase consideration through social media channels and partnerships, such as influencers and publishers. You will maintain a deep understanding of social media best practices, performance metrics, and data analysis methodologies and tools. Regularly evolving and presenting strategies, learnings, and recommendations to senior leadership will be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that our social media efforts align with overall business goals. You will develop and own goals and performance metrics for multiple social accounts, utilizing critical analysis of historical data, content, and tactical approaches to make recommendations for continuous improvement. Reporting on these metrics will occur on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Identifying emerging channel trends and partnering with creative, paid social, marketing teams, and external agencies will allow you to quickly define and execute experiments, leaning into successes. Additionally, you will define and improve processes through standard operating procedure documentation and playbooks for social listening, content publishing, and channel partnerships. Coordination with the content team will be essential for ensuring that our social media tactics align with overall strategy and goals, while managing external agencies to plan and steer campaign strategies effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Independently define measurable strategies, tactics, and production methods with clear KPIs to meet varying objectives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of social media best practices, performance metrics, data analysis methodology, and tools.
  • Regularly evolve and present strategy, learnings, and recommendations to senior leadership via meetings and document writing.
  • Develop and own goals and performance metrics for 4+ social accounts using critical analysis of historical data, content/creative, and tactical approaches.
  • Identify emerging channel trends and partner with creative, paid social, marketing teams, and external agencies to execute experiments.
  • Define and improve processes via standard operating procedure documentation and playbooks for social listening, content publishing, and channel partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the content team for always-on and overall programming in social media and onsite channels.
  • Manage external agencies to plan and steer campaign strategy, holding them accountable and pivoting as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years relevant professional experience in social strategy, social media management, social media planning, social media buying, and/or budget management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to capture and use various data points to develop and measure marketing programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to influence teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • A passion for social media and understanding its business impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word or Google Suite; Photoshop or equivalent video editing proficiency highly preferred.
