The American Medical Association (AMA) is seeking a Sr Compensation Analyst to join our Human Resource team in a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. This position requires 2-3 days a week in the office and is integral to the administration and communication of our compensation programs, policies, and processes. As a Sr Compensation Analyst, you will independently create job descriptions and conduct market analyses to evaluate roles and compensation programs. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and Managers, acting as an internal consultant on compensation-related issues. Your contributions will be vital in developing compensation programs, policies, and processes that align with the AMA's mission to promote the art and science of medicine and enhance public health. In this role, you will be responsible for writing and editing job descriptions to align with market best practices, independently market pricing roles, and build base salary compensation recommendations. You will participate in annual compensation surveys, manage the annual merit and incentive process, and conduct data analysis based on the current compensation structure. Additionally, you will maintain tools such as Payfactors to support compensation analysis and job descriptions, and collaborate in developing communication materials related to compensation programs. You will also work closely with HR Business Partners and Business Unit leaders to assess market conditions and create competitive job offers. Mentoring the compensation team on best practices will be part of your responsibilities, as well as identifying and improving core compensation tools and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative workload.
