About the position

Thrive Pet Healthcare is currently seeking a Sr. Compensation Analyst to join our fun, passionate, and growing People Operations team. This position will ideally be based in Austin, TX out of our headquarters office and be hybrid in office 2-days a week. Candidates based in other geographies across the U.S. will also be considered for a remote role. In this pivotal role, you will have the unique opportunity to drive Thrive Pet Healthcare's compensation strategy, design, analysis, and administration. Your contributions will help shape a compelling employee experience that attracts, retains, and motivates our talent to be change agents for good. Not to mention, we are the fastest-growing veterinary management organization in the country. Core responsibilities include supporting the development of organization-wide job architecture and leveling, which will serve as the foundation upon which key compensation and talent management programs are built. You will manage relationships with survey vendors and own our annual survey participation process, including analyzing results that will support the development of market-competitive salary structures and annual incentive plans. Additionally, you will lead the analysis for ad-hoc market pricing and shift differential requests, and support the administration of incentive plans throughout the organization, such as the Talent Acquisition Bonus, annual Team Incentive Plan (TIP), and Hospital Incentive Plan. You will also support and take a progressively active role in the administration and analyses for the annual compensation cycle, partnering with People Operations Business Partners to evaluate compensation benchmarking requests and synthesize both internal and external data points to provide sound and actionable recommendations. Assessing jobs and their respective duties to ensure compliance with FLSA and Department of Labor regulations will be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with our Workday, payroll, and accounting teams will be essential to administer compliant, accurate, and timely compensation tasks. Finally, you will recommend enhancements to standard operating procedures for compensation processes and policies, aligning with Thrive Pet Healthcare's total rewards philosophy and best market practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of org-wide job architecture and leveling.

  • Take an active role in the administration and analyses for the annual compensation cycle.
  • Partner with People Operations Business Partners to evaluate compensation benchmarking requests.
  • Synthesize internal and external data points to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Assess jobs and their respective duties for compliance with FLSA and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Collaborate with Workday, payroll, and accounting teams for accurate compensation administration.
  • Recommend enhancements to standard operating procedures for compensation processes and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years as a Compensation Analyst.
  • Experience with independently participating in third-party salary surveys and analyzing results.
  • Experience with Mercer WIN or other third-party compensation databases such as Payscale.
  • Experience designing salary structures for exempt and non-exempt employees in different geographic locations.
  • Experience leveling and pricing jobs utilizing market and geographic differential data, internal equity, and company pay practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to manipulate and understand large amounts of data and tell a story.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
