About the position

The Sr Compensation Analyst position is a critical role within the Compensation Department, responsible for providing high-level analytical support to enhance the effectiveness of compensation programs and processes. This role involves assisting in the planning, design, and administration of various compensation initiatives, including job evaluations, survey completions, design modeling, and plan effectiveness analytics. The primary objective is to support the company in attracting and retaining talent through strategic compensation practices that align with organizational goals and maximize effectiveness. In this role, the analyst will perform complex analyses and data modeling of reward and recognition programs to ensure they meet business objectives, such as salary planning, merit increases, and variable pay programs. The analyst will also assist in administering performance review or merit-rating programs and support the training and communication requirements of compensation programs. Conducting annual reviews, including internal equity assessments and merit movement analyses, will be essential to ensure fair and competitive compensation practices. The Sr Compensation Analyst will provide project management and analytical support for the execution of the company's compensation strategy, collaborating with the HR Technology team to ensure that the HRMS system meets compensation needs and reflects necessary updates. Additionally, the analyst will conduct job evaluations for various positions to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices while complying with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Supporting the development of career paths and participating in compensation surveys to analyze competitive salary information will also be key responsibilities. The role may involve leading cross-functional team projects and addressing compensation-related issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis and data modeling of reward and recognition programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist in the administration of performance review or merit-rating programs and support training and communication requirements of compensation programs.
  • Conduct various annual reviews including internal equity, merit movement, pay-ratio, and other metrics for analyses as appropriate.
  • Provide project management and analytical support to execute the company's compensation strategy.
  • Work with the HR Technology team to ensure the HRMS system meets compensation needs and is updated accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and information to HR and business partners on compensation matters.
  • Conduct job evaluations for various management positions to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Support the development of career paths to attract and retain talent, aligning with organizational and market structures.
  • Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information.
  • Review requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignments.
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related problems.
  • Participate and may lead cross-functional team projects as appropriate, supporting ad hoc project/analysis requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of compensation experience, including analysis, project management, and business acumen.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of Compensation practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated relationship, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
  • Ability to see the big picture and identify patterns from complex information.
  • Ability to influence both functional and technical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-starter mentality.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
