About the position

The Sr Compensation Analyst at Aspen Technology Inc. plays a crucial role in analyzing and administering compensation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that the company is well-positioned to attract and retain high-quality talent. This position focuses particularly on Field Operations compensation programs, which include Sales, Inside Sales, Business Consulting, Professional Services, and Customer Support and Training. The analyst will ensure that these compensation programs align with the company's strategies and goals while remaining compliant with global regulations. In this role, the analyst will collaborate with Field Operations Executives to establish and review market-based target total compensation for all Field Operations positions, ensuring that all key positions are linked to accurate and appropriately leveled market data. The analyst will regularly evaluate and classify new positions to maintain external competitiveness and internal equity. Additionally, the analyst will review current base and incentive programs to assess their effectiveness and develop recommendations for modifications as necessary. The position also involves monitoring the administration of promotions and transfers within and between Field job families, ensuring compliance with guidelines globally in collaboration with regional HR representatives. The analyst will participate in annual salary planning cycles, including bonus, equity, and merit processes, and will be responsible for researching, analyzing, assessing, and administering compensation programs and processes. Furthermore, the analyst will be a member of the Oracle implementation team, tasked with implementing compensation management technology and analytics, while maintaining and auditing compensation data in Oracle to prepare comprehensive models and reports as needed. Finally, the analyst will monitor compensation practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations such as FLSA, Title VII, Equal Pay Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, among others, ensuring that the company adheres to country-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and administer compensation programs, policies, and procedures to attract and retain talent.
  • Focus on Field Operations compensation programs including Sales, Inside Sales, Business Consulting, Professional Services, and Customer Support and Training.
  • Work with Field Operations Executives to set and review market-based target total compensation for all Field Operations positions.
  • Evaluate and classify new positions to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Regularly review current base and incentive programs and develop recommendations for change or modification.
  • Review methodology for promotions and transfers and develop recommendations for change as appropriate.
  • Monitor administration against guidelines globally in concert with regional HR representatives.
  • Review distribution of field personnel within the company's salary structure and work with line clients to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Participate as a member and point of contact on the cross-functional Sales Compensation team.
  • Partner with HR and client organizations to provide service-oriented compensation analysis and creative solutions.
  • Participate in annual salary planning cycles including bonus, equity, and merit process.
  • Research, analyze, assess, and administer compensation programs and processes; document current processes and develop recommendations for changes and improvements.
  • Participate as a member of the Oracle implementation team to implement compensation management technology and analytics.
  • Maintain and audit compensation data in Oracle and utilize data to prepare comprehensive models and reports as needed.
  • Monitor compensation practices and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8-10 years of experience administering base, equity, and variable compensation programs in a global environment.
  • Experience with Field based variable compensation and job evaluation and market pricing methods essential.
  • Professional Certification essential; CCP preferred.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access); Oracle knowledge a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexible and proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation.
  • Ability to coach and influence others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong Excel skills (proficient in the use of functions, macros, pivot tables).
