About the position

The Sr Construction Scheduling Manager at AECOM is responsible for leading the project controls function on medium to large construction projects. This role involves developing commercial strategies, conducting root cause analysis, and overseeing the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. The manager will also mentor team members, manage client relationships, and ensure effective communication regarding project performance and change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project controls function on medium to large projects.
  • Develop commercial strategies and participate in negotiations.
  • Document employee performance issues and assist in resolutions.
  • Mentor and train team members, identifying high potential employees.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and draft comprehensive project procedures.
  • Manage scope control and change management processes.
  • Review performance trends and prepare analysis and cost impact reports.
  • Evaluate manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements against budget.
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules.
  • Assist the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships.
  • Review and analyze project programs and oversee progress/performance reports.
  • Participate in client and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Ensure tracking database is developed and maintained for subcontractor funding alignment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 10 years of relevant construction experience or equivalent education/experience, including 2 years of leadership.
  • Experience in construction scheduling.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience as a Construction Scheduler on mega-projects in higher education, sports stadiums, hospitality, airports, and convention centers.
  • Experience working for a large general contractor on projects over $500 million.
  • Experience in project controls and cost estimating in the public sector.
  • Expert proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 and BIM scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience analyzing schedule variances.
