About the position

The Sr. Consultant, Data Architecture at Lincoln Financial Group is responsible for leading the architecture of complex data solutions both on AWS cloud and on-premises. This role involves collaborating with various technologies and stakeholders to design and implement data architecture that aligns with business strategies and requirements. The consultant will also oversee the development life cycle of data solutions, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends in data architecture.
  • Direct and enhance organizational initiatives by supporting change management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality across teams.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to team members and stakeholders on complex projects.
  • Guide complex assignments and initiatives to enhance capabilities.
  • Maintain expertise in analysis and design for consulting engagements.
  • Partner with business and other architects to assess and simplify data architecture.
  • Ensure integrity and security of data architecture and measure impact on IT infrastructure.
  • Design scalable solutions for hosting and integrating large amounts of data on AWS Cloud.
  • Translate complex requirements into detailed architecture and key project artifacts.
  • Conduct product assessments and vendor evaluations as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to architecture standards and best practices.
  • Revitalize and redesign information systems to improve effectiveness.
  • Share knowledge of technology tools and disciplines as a strategic advantage.
  • Identify potential data architecture solutions for complex business problems.
  • Understand financial impacts of proposed solutions on operations and infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute plans to ensure delivery of results.
  • Promote shared infrastructure to reduce costs and improve information flows.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in design and development of operational data stores, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Experience in data acquisition, modeling, extraction, transformation, and loading.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
