About the position

This role is pivotal as it functions in a "chief of staff" capacity, supporting senior executives by ensuring that key results are completed accurately and on time. As a Senior Consultant, you will lead multiple administrative operational functions within a major business unit or subsidiary, developing program management policies, standards, and methods while performing program and project analysis. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining processes that align business initiatives with results, facilitating improvements to provide cost-effective stewardship of assets, and directing financial management, project budgeting, and resource planning processes. In this high-profile role, you will provide executive-level reporting and analysis, manage support services such as facilities and communications, and serve as a key member of the business unit leadership team. You will also act as the primary liaison to other operations and business units, and may have the opportunity to manage associates, including performance management and training. This position requires a proactive approach, the ability to pivot and adapt to changing priorities, and a strong focus on strategic imperatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business management, particularly in financial analysis and project management, with a minimum of ten years of experience. You will need to demonstrate decision-making skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the business unit's products and services. This role is essential for ensuring that our executives are supported effectively, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain processes to ensure alignment of business initiatives and results.
  • Facilitate the definition, maintenance, and improvements of processes for cost-effective stewardship of assets.
  • Direct financial management, project/resources budgeting, and resource planning processes for the business unit.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and analysis.
  • Manage additional support services such as facilities, communications, licensing, reporting, and accounting.
  • Adhere to operational standards and methods, analyze problem situations, and acquire data.
  • Serve as a key member of the business unit leadership team.
  • Act as the primary liaison to other operations/business units.
  • Manage associates, including performance management, salary planning, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support leadership development based on office needs and individual career path development plans.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies in business, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • Typically ten or more years of demonstrated experience in business management with an emphasis on financial analysis, project management, and leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of business unit products, services, organizational structure, and critical initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of insurance or financial services operations, including technology and quality/training initiatives preferred.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills, including the ability to recognize, analyze, and improve operational and financial performance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal/external contacts, negotiations, and presentations.
